About Lisa
Following a 25 year career in business and high tech commodity brokerage, I was burned out and seeking"more"; more balance between work and family. Corporate life challenged my mind, but was hard on my body. So, I found myself raising my son while tapping into new areas of the visual arts as gallery curator and abstract artist. I indulged my love of animals at a local stable and rediscovered peace and balance. Yet serendipity stepped in following a riding injury two years later. I was referred for Bowenwork therapy to address my injuries. Well acquainted with chronic pain from car accidents, pregnancies, and athletic injuries, I was keenly aware of the dysfunctional role chronic pain has on quality of life. Bowenwork peeled back a layer of healing I had not previously experienced. In addition to addressing my back injury, older aches and pains seemed to subside during my Bowenwork treatments. I regained vitality, mental clarity, improved sleep, digestion, pain abatement, mobility, and peace of mind. Awakened to a new path for professional expression and community contribution, I was propelled to a midlife career change.
After completing the basic certification curriculum at the American Bowen Academy, I continued through advanced & professional certifications and began my practice almost 8 years ago. Adding to my credentials, I certified as an Associate Instructor for the 4-hour novice rescue protocols class to share simple tools with my community for on the spot Bowenwork first aid support. Teaching the 4 hour "rescue protocols" class has been an added way to help my community of moms, health professionals, and consumers discover ways to help others in health crises.
I love the healing power of Bowenwork having witnessed the benefits for clients and students, often beyond my expectations. Bowenwork resonates in the human body like a tuning fork of realignment -- shifting cellular dissonance to harmonic balance. The scalable nature of it allows for a wide range of educational applications, whether through the novice rescue class, a private or group session, community clinics, or customized treatment programs. Clients can choose the way they can learn and benefit most. This is a tool for life.
It's often said that, "Bowenwork finds you." My clients and I agree! I love the possibility of my work as a facilitator and advocate for clients and students, and appreciate the value & trust they place in me. As a practitioner and teacher, I continue to learn, expand, grow and ask questions. I've found this to be a healthy way to remain engaged and cultivate well being & personal satisfaction. In turn, I hope it's reflected in the quality of care I provide as a listener, health advocate, and cheerleader for clients; listen, learn, inspire, elevate, and encourage! Having a career that encourages curiosity and lifelong growth is a lovely experience to share with others. Lighting a fire with each student & client to become better versed in their own health advocacy, while discovering renewed capacity for healing, grace, personal satisfaction is a great way to experience the world. If our paths cross, I hope you will be better for it.
